How many Tears of Metal achievements are there?
The official Steam statistics page lists 89 achievements for Tears of Metal. The Steam store independently shows the same total, so this page does not rely on a third-party tracker for the count.
The requirements fall into five useful planning groups:
- campaign challenges: complete a condition during one campaign;
- long-term totals: accumulate Triskeles, damage, rescues or other actions across campaigns;
- boss milestones: defeat Gilles, Iseult and Harold;
- restricted runs: finish an act without spending, opening chests or equipping Emblems;
- combat execution: maintain combos, Block ranged damage or land repeated parries.
That distinction matters. A requirement containing “in a single Campaign” resets with the run, while Steam requirements using “throughout your Campaigns” describe cumulative progress.
What are the rarest Tears of Metal achievements?
These were the ten lowest global unlock rates visible on Steam during the source check. The target column paraphrases the official requirement so the table can be scanned quickly; use Steam's live page for the current wording and percentage.
| Achievement | Global unlock rate | Requirement summary |
|---|---|---|
| Questionable Priorities | 0.4% | Open three chests while an ally is waiting for rescue |
| Area of Annihilation | 0.6% | Defeat at least 75 enemies with one attack |
| Ascetic Warrior | 0.7% | Finish Act 2 without equipping an Emblem |
| Minimalistic Creed | 0.9% | Finish Act 1 without equipping an Emblem |
| Human Porcupine | 1.8% | Block 300 ranged damage in one campaign |
| Clockwork | 1.8% | Parry 45 times in one campaign |
| Living on the Edge | 2.7% | Start and finish a boss fight at 10% HP or less |
| Voluntary Discomfort | 2.9% | Finish Act 2 without opening a Treasure Chest |
| Arrow Catcher | 3.4% | Block 200 ranged damage in one campaign |
| Should Have Looked Up... | 5.1% | Let a Dragonstone reduce HP to 10% or less |
Low global completion does not prove that a requirement is mechanically the hardest. A low rate can also mean players have not attempted the condition, have not reached the relevant act or are still progressing through Early Access.
Boss achievements and current unlock rates
The three named boss achievements provide a rough view of how far the Steam population had progressed by the snapshot date.
| Achievement | Boss requirement | Global unlock rate | Site coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Butcher | Defeat Gilles, The Hog | 67.4% | Act 1 and Gilles walkthrough |
| Witch Hunter | Defeat Iseult, The Banshee | 27.2% | Act 2 and Iseult walkthrough |
| Dragonslayer | Defeat Harold, The Dragon | 10.4% | Official requirement only; no site-tested route yet |
An unlock percentage is not an exact campaign-completion rate. Players can stop, play offline, use different branches or simply not have synchronized an achievement yet. Use the values as directional context, not as a precise retention funnel.
For verified help with the first two milestones, use the Gilles the Hog walkthrough and Iseult the Banshee walkthrough. The Iseult win also ties into the current Hero unlock guide.
A practical route toward 100% completion
Use the official requirement text as a checklist, then group compatible goals instead of forcing every achievement into one run.
- Collect normal progression milestones first. Boss wins, Triskele totals, rescue totals and repeated combat actions advance while learning the game.
- Separate single-campaign from cumulative goals. Do not assume progress carries over when the requirement explicitly names one campaign.
- Pair related combat goals. Blocking and parrying each have escalating requirements, so record the highest tier reached before planning another focused attempt.
- Give restricted runs their own attempt. No-spend, no-chest and no-Emblem conditions remove resources that a normal progression run expects.
- Recheck the official list after patches. Early Access balance and requirements can change; confirm the live wording before a long attempt.
For the current Block and parry rules, see the armored-enemy combat guide. For campaign structure and progression terms, start with the beginner guide.
Does Tears of Metal have PS5 trophies?
No native PS5 version has been announced, so there is no official PlayStation trophy list for Tears of Metal. The 89-entry count on this page is the Steam achievement total. Using a DualSense controller with the Windows build does not create a PS5 trophy set; the current platform evidence is tracked on the PS5 status page.
