What is the latest Tears of Metal patch?

The newest numbered update in Paper Cult's official feed is version 0.14.58630. Older balance details remain preserved at the version 0.11.57863 patch archive instead of being rewritten as if they shipped in the latest hotfix.

Was there a newer Tears of Metal update on August 21?

There was a newer official development update, but not a newer game build. Paper Cult's August 21 roadmap says the next patch is planned as a large stability push, followed by reworks to build-crafting agency, Emblem synergies and metaprogression. It gives no patch number or release date and does not say that those changes are live.

Version 0.14.58630 highlights

  • Elite and Boss HP should no longer desync between clients;
  • Threat Levels and Campaign Maps should stay synchronized between clients;
  • Triskeles should no longer fly away;
  • bosses spawning in the air on clients received a tentative fix;
  • mobs should no longer die in place;
  • the included August 13 hotfix addresses buffs that never expired and damage sources blocking enemy movement during attacks.

These are official developer change-log claims. They do not prove that every multiplayer or latency problem has been eliminated.

What shipped in the August 13 update?

The update immediately before 0.14 introduced broader changes:

  • networking optimization intended to reduce stuttering and desync;
  • crash and performance fixes, including expected Steam Deck improvements;
  • the new companion Aodh, the Vigil;
  • an HP-based multiplayer revive system instead of a Coin cost;
  • continued work on mid-campaign saving and further optimization.

Under the new revive rule, reviving costs 50% of the reviver's current HP. The revived player receives health in proportion to the maximum-health percentage sacrificed, the reviver needs more than 10% maximum HP, and the revive timer shortens by five seconds after each revival.

Version 0.11 balance baseline

  • Region Currency rewards are guaranteed in every act and increased in Acts 2 and 3;
  • shop, fountain and treasure prices changed across acts;
  • Dragonstone Treasure Chests cost one Dragonstone and guarantee a high-tier Charm;
  • Emblem-family selection favors families not yet seen in the campaign;
  • Charm rarity categories, balance and some functions changed;
  • the Act 2 difficulty curve and several encounters were adjusted;
  • Acts 1 and 2 received performance optimization;
  • several crash, boss, ally, UI and map issues were fixed.

These are official developer claims. The announcement does not provide a complete Charm value table or hardware benchmarks.

Crossplay status

The 0.14 announcement says normal-version crossplay is temporarily disabled. Paper Cult directs Steam users who need compatibility to the branch named “crossplay,” which tracks the Windows Store / Game Pass version and may trail normal Steam.
